Juventus left-back Alex Sandro is on the verge of finalising a €50m transfer to Manchester United, and confirmation could come next week.
Jose Mourinho’s side are concentrating on their FA Cup final clash against Chelsea on Saturday, and so no business will be done before then, but Italian newspaper La Stampa are adament that this deal will be completed shortly after.
27-year old Sandro joined Juventus from Porto in 2015, and has since made an impressive 113 appearances, winning three domestic doubles with the club. Juve signed Sandro for €26m and so will be making a healthy profit on the Brazilian,
As well as being a stalwart in defence, Sandro shows keen attacking ability and vision, having scored 9 times for the Italian giants, and providing a further 17 assists. A relatively large number for a left-back.
It is also understood that this deal would allow Matteo Darmian to move in the opposite direction, but under a separate deal. The 28-year old made just 8 Premier League appearances in the 2017/18 season for Man Utd, and doesn’t fit into Mourinho’s plans.
The move of Sandro comes off the back of interest from the Red Devils in signing £30m rated Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko, who played a crucial role in the Spanish sides demolision of Marseille in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
By all accounts Mourinho has defenders in his eyesight, and wants to get deals wrapped up before the World Cup begins, and these two signings worth roughly £75m may not be his sole transfer window deals.
