Neymar has made his feelings clear, and is apparently desperate for a move to Real Madrid. However, Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to fight to keep him after club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said he is going nowhere.
Just a year after making the world record transfer of €222m from Spanish champions Barcelona to the Paris club, Neymar wants a return to Spain, but this time with Real Madrid.
It has long been reported that the Parisians were a stepping stone club with the player not wanting to go directly to the Bernabeu from Barcelona. However, it has been reported that the player’s agent has been in talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Neymar’s agent has recently taken over control of Robert Lewandowski, and it could be that the Pole could join PSG to replace the Brazillian should he leave. But, Al-Khelaifi has refused to notion that Neymar will leave, and taken aim at the Spanish media for suggesting so.
“Who says he will not stay here? Did anyone say that? No one. He has a contract with us, and he will stay, 2000%. Spanish media are still working for Spanish clubs and against the French clubs. And the French media I don’t know who they are working for.”
However, more recently the PSG president has changed his stance.
“Nothing and nobody is bigger than the club, not the coach nor the players. The club is and always will be first, it is bigger. If someone does not accept that and is not happy, then they leave.”
